210 amp hours of usable lithium power is plenty as all heat is produced from the diesel powered wallas xc duo. This item takes centre stage within the van, just silently sipping diesel from the vehicles fuel tank and using a very small amount of 12v power. This cooker and heater combination unit can be switched on from the start of your journey and left running until you return home. With the unit in heater mode the lid stays down and air is blown over a ceramic plate into the van. When its time to cook just lift the lid and you have a hot plate large enough for two pans. The wallas xc duo offers four season functionality and will become your favourite thing really fast.
Items such as the maxxair deluxe, cr lawrence sliding window, ridgeline bug screen and scirrocco fan work together to circulate air and create a fresh, cool or warm environment.
The cooking area is massive. The bench and bed can be used to place items and the workspace is plenty. The sink is shallow and has a low profile drain, this not only increases usable workspace but offers more area in the cupboard below. The cupboard area has a large drawer to store a bowl, toaster, kettle and many other frequently used items. The majority of this space contains all plumbing and a few nooks for various items. The bi fold doors ensure items stay inside the cupboard whilst driving, then open up the entire areas for easy access.
110 litres of water are divided between two onboard tanks. The water can be heated via the inverter, and is supprisingly efficient. An 80 litre grey tank is mounted under the van and has various vents and level gauges for hassle free use. Various other components such as diaphram pump, accumilatior, valves and faucets are all good quality. Water dispensed from the smaller tap comes from the onboard tanks and is safe to drink. The 12v ultra violet sterilisation system will filter and sterilise up to 2 litres of water per minute. When the faucets blue light glows the system is active and your water will be safe.
The unit to the right is designed to store a spin dryer and all laundry essentials, buckets, brushes and detergents etc. The exterior side of this unit has a large drop down door offering access to the entire unit and providing a large work surface.
On the drivers side a large bench with a profesionaly upholstered cushion sits on top of three large drawers and the fridge. The sale includes some utensils and pans as they fit in the dividers well. The lower drawer stores plenty of food and a selection of storage containers for dried goods etc. And another drawer under the fridge.
The dometic cfx 35 fridge freezer has a durable insulating cover and sits inside a made to measure drawer. A tug on the magnetic latch and the unit glides out. Access is gained from the top. This keeps cool air within the unit and prevents spillages during any movements. This fridge is a top performer in the 12v fridge world, low power consumption, good thermal retention and excellent build quality are just a few reasons for its popularity. Should a replacement be required at any point, the thermal wrap will cover up the cosmetic scuffs and bumps seen on significantly cheaper reconditioned units.
The woo woo seperate loo has won several design awards, and rightfully so. Its design is leading in this category, its simplicity and ease of use makes it a market leading seperating loo. It is fixed upon a raised platform. This allows easy access to the fixed bed, a small utility area for vents and fuses and a fibreglass storage area with drain.
Two lithium batterys provide 2,560 watts to the 12v system. Three days off grid in poor winter weather is easily acheivable as many of the components are extremely efficient. The system contains everything expected of a high spec van. The brand of choice is renogy. Being a reptuable brand, all these renogy components are reliable, easy to understand and use.
The rear cargo area is large. Recessed L-track channells have been integrated into the floor. Fork mounts, eyelets and various other componants can be securely fitted, removed or adjusted in seconds.
Above the cargo area is the fixed bunk. With a side pod mounted onto the exterior of the van the bunk is still insulated and has a reccessed section allowing extra room for taller users. The matress is made to measure, has a professionaly sewn stretch fabric protector, and can be removed to gain full access to all electronics, plumbing and cargo. Another berth is made up from the bench and drivers seat.
The two captain seats swivell 180 degrees facing into the rear. A lay flat handbrake has been installed. The dash, door cards, and floor are in very good condition. Remis cab blinds are fitted to all cab windows, so privacy and uv protection can be acheived in seconds. A genuine low roof headlining is retrofitted above the cab and a shelf provides plenty of storage above the cab. The pillar trims are custom made from bamboo ply. Blackout curtains divide the cab and living area and are partialy concealed when neatly tied back.
The over head storage cabinets offer plenty of storage. Translucent door fronts keep the items in place, this acrylic material allows light to enter the cupboard when in the open position and they can glow any colour using led backlights.
The aluminium extrusion construction combined with natural shade acrylics, composite aluminium sheeting and bamboo plywood is the lightest, most durable and probably the most expensive method possible for a vehicle conversion.
All panels are treated with ressonance dampening mat, closed cell insulating foam and thermal fleece. The panels are plywood and lined with a heavy duty durable textured fabric. The floor is insulated.
All drawers and partitions are made from poplar plywood. The primary construction method is pocket hole joinery and anything wooden has been treated with an extremely durable 2k varnish.
A 4G roof mounted antenna ensures a strong and reliable signal for the built in wifi router.
The alloy wheels with michellin agillis all season cross climate tyres have additional sidewall protection giving them a rugged off road look. The all season rubber compound will perform well in any climate.
The bumpers and plastic trims are raptor lined. This durable truck bed liner is a textured uv resistant type of paint, it is extremely durable and gives a permenantly black finish.
Photos 1 to 23 were taken in july 2026. Its a lovely vehicle to look at. But please note its a used van and not a brand new vehicle, rust is minimal but present. It was purchased with the intention of converting to this standard. Sourcing a good vehicle was very important, so after much research I drove from exeter to edinburgh and zig zaged down the uk viewing nearly a dozen of these vans. This was the best condition, under budget and only 3 hours drive from home. The vat was paid off to purchase the van.
Some works have been carried out in the past few years, such as the auxillary belt with tensioners and pulleys, a new exhaust, all brake disks and pads, an air intake manifold and various rubber components. A service is carried out every august and the oil filter is changed a few times a year.
It has two keys, loads of documents, its registered as a motor caravan, has no speed limiter, a full service history and lots of little extras are included.
A comprehensive handbook including wiring diagrams for the van, every product and the entire conversion has been created.
Its unladen weight is under 2.8 ton. The main bunk is 180cm x 90cm, the bench bunk is 200cm x 60cm.
There is a genuine reason for its sale, if i had more time, less wheels to maintain or more money it would absolutely not be for sale. My next conversion will almost replicate this one.
The advertised price reflects the amount of money put into the conversion, minus a modest amount for each years use. The hundreds of hours put into the conversion, tooling, experience and yearly running costs have not been considered. I may consider respectful offers.
