🚐 Ford Transit Mk7 Campervan – Self-Build Conversion (2007)
We’re parting ways with our passion project of 5 years – a lovingly self-converted Ford Transit Mk7 long wheelbase, high roof campervan. Built in 2020 and enjoyed on countless adventures, this van is fully equipped and ready for its next chapter.
🔹 Van Details
- Model: Ford Transit Mk7 100 T350L RWD, 2.4 TDCi, LWB HR
- Year: 2007
- Mileage: 133,500 (plenty of life left – these engines are built like tanks)
- MOT & Tax: Valid until Feb 2026

- Very well insulated: recycled bottle insulation (eco & fire safe), plus 25mm Celotex under floor and behind bed walls and ceiling
- No fixed heating (we used portable options), but space under seat to fit a diesel heater if require

- Simple, reliable setup with Shurflo pump
- 2 × 25L fresh water containers (one connected, one spare)
- 23L grey water tank (easy under-sink access)
- External cold shower
- Portable Campalux 5L water heater (included) – connects to external shower for hot water
- Large Gas bottle included
🔹 Electrical System
- 350W solar panel + Renogy controller
- 220Ah dual leisure battery setup (only 1.5 years old)
- 240V hookup with charger, sockets, and camping hookup leads
- 12V switchboard with multiple sockets
- Spare wired connections for future upgrades (lights, ceiling fan, etc.)
- Twin Ford Transit starter & auxiliary under-seat batteries (standard)
- One battery warning light (appeared after fridge relay install – doesn’t affect performance; batteries hold charge perfectly)
- Option to add B2B charger, though with the solar setup we’ve never needed it
