I am selling my VW Camper, after about 5 years of repairs, including a £3,700 fully refurbished engine, it has beaten me..
On the 5th of November, I took it for it’s winter major clean, some petrol and get some charge in the battery but on the way it overheated, and when I tried to creep it on to the tow truck the accelerator pedal broke off, which I know is just a couple of rivets but that was is it, the straw that broke the camel’s back, and I have decided I am done with this project and it has to go..
It has:
>New engine with less then a hundred miles, which after getting it home and putting in more coolant it turns over freely with no weird noises.
>Full tank of petrol.
>Brand new tyres (about 15 miles on them).
>New Battery
>Coil overs (original suspension with the van)
>Coil overs (original suspension with the van)
>Incredible Slaughter House Customs power-steering (original steering parts with the van)
>Tow bar
>Wrap around spots to go on also from SHC to go on.
>Just Kampers metal window vents
>Brand new camper cover
>SHC short shift block
>Imported Hurst shift knob (will need an adaptor but gear positions match)
>Full width rock and roll bed
>Stand alone table stored under the bench with leisure batteries
>240v hook up
>New Wing mirrors
>New Wind deflectors
>Various welding done including a new driver step.
Paint and body, and interior are okay and as I got it.. But they aren’t great.. as I focused on the mechanical and structural stuff first and I planned to have the body professionally repaired and full respray so didn’t do more than touch ups.. But it is water tight and usable.. With the only bits of filler in the pictures
It is probably only a coolant system flush away from being okay but £7000+ and it fighting me every step I just don’t have the patience for it any more.
I am willing to entertain reasonable offers.
