Had loads of fun camping in this! I have owned for the last 5 years and spent circa 10k getting it to where it is now. Mechanically very good, top engine rebuilt last year. Structurally very good, any welding needed for MOT etc completed. Body work not the best in places (reflected in the asking price – wheel arches, lower of tailgate), but nothing that affects mot. Since getting it to a highly reliable state I have slowly been tacking the bodywork, but the family now has outgrown and showing less interest. Body work could be left as is or patched up over time to make a very nice bus.
Outline of work completed:
· Van interior converted to campervan
· Side mirror upgrade to defender mirrors
· Top engine rebuilt, new head gasket and valve seals etc
· New cambelt and auxiliary belt
· Gear box replaced
· Leisure batter on split charge relay
· Bench seat installed in front to make 3 front t seats with seatbelts (no seat belts in rear)
· New rear shocks
· New alternator
· New starter motor
· New ignition coil
· New spark plugs and leads
· Carburettor refurbishment
· New radiator
· 4 good tyres and spare wheel
· Radiator fan and temp sensors refurbishment
· Dash removed and all electrics sorted (everything works as it should)
