All work has been caringly and meticulously carried out by me, the owner. At all stages I’ve aimed for quality kit, a professional standard and an ultra-clean, Scandinavian-inspired finish.
For those that don’t already know, campervan build quality is in the details. You can get a seemingly great van cheap but it will rot out or suffer mould, leaks etc much quicker than properly built vans. Good conversions take A LOT of time and effort, and corners are often cut. Here are the details for those that know and those that want hassle free van living.
The van is usable now but still offers the chance for a new owner to put their stamp on it. You can find a full list of details below but the top line is:
– Insulation, panelling, flooring and roof lining are complete
– Solar, hook-up, electrics, extraction and lighting are complete
– Seating/bed is complete
– Windows and curtains installed
– Some storage and worktops are finished but more can be added.

The base van
– Ford Transit mk7 2013 L2H3 FWD 2.2l 125ps
– FWD means an extra 10cm headroom – I’m 6ft (183cm) and I have plenty

– Ground down screw holes caused by panelling and sealed with roof flashing

– Dimmable LED uplighting with remote control. No horrible spotlight hotspots!
– Premium IP68 LED tape, warmer white, 12W/m. 6m total length = 72W on full power.
– Aluminium channel-mounted with diffuser gives a lovely, even light.
Insulation
– 50mm Ecotherm insulation board, stick and pin mounted on main panels and roof
– 25mm Ecotherm insulation board, stick and pin mounted where 50mm didn’t fit
– 100mm recycled polypropylene wool in cavities
Vapour barrier
– Aluminium bubble foil insulation with foil tape
Extraction
– Innovative 2 speed fan which utilises powerful computer fans, giving very low dB and W for the rate of extraction
– Speed 1 = Noctua NF-S12A FLX 120mm Premium Quiet Fan, under 18dB, 1.44W
– Speed 2 = Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-2000 120mm Heavy Duty Fan, under 30dB, 1.2W
Flooring
– 25mm Ecotherm insulation board
– Treated pine battening
– 15mm marine plywood subfloor

– LVT click waterproof vinyl flooring in pale oak effect throughout
Panelling
– 6mm plywood panelling trimmed and reused for curved surfaces
– 18mm structural birch ply for structural panels

Roof lining
– 18mm hardwood ply beams
– 9mm UPVC soffit panels with U-channel edging
