The Van
Transit custom limited (Short wheel base) in chrome blue metallic.
Purchased by myself in July 2022 with 16000 miles on the clock. Prior to my ownership it was purchased by the previous owner as a dealership demo vehicle. This owner used it to transport his motorbikes and it was in brilliant condition inside and out. I then began converting the van in winter 2022 as well as using it as my daily vehicle.
Being the Limited model, the van benefits from air conditioning, apple car play (aftermarket wireless CarPlay adapter included), cruise control, heated windscreen, heated driver and passenger seats, automatic headlights and daytime running lights.
The van has MOT until November 2025 and full service history and has been serviced yearly in my ownership (not 2 yearly as recommended by the manufacturer) using genuine OEM oil. Most recent service carried out 21/11/24 (full service including oil, oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, cabin filter, air filter). Old oil was inspected during this service and no obvious signs of wet belt degradation yet, so not a job that needs doing imminently but would advise monitoring this during every service.
Interior is in great condition and seats have had seat covers on throughout my ownership. Have also used genuine rubber winter floor mats year round.
The Conversion
As you can see there is a lot to list and I think I have captured all the key features. For context on the asking price of the van, the ply guys kit, pop top and wheels alone cost more then £10,000. I have receipts to prove this and for everything else mentioned in this listing including £1000s in electrical conversion and other fitted extras.
Couple of small negative points worth mentioning…
Bodywork is showing a few age related marks, namely a couple of car park dings on the passenger side door where people have opened their doors onto the van. Happy to rectify these for the new buyer though if asking price is paid. Overall the bodywork is in good condition as evidenced by the photos.
Front windscreen has had a stone chip repair near the centre of the windscreen. Not something that bothers me but it is noticeable once pointed out (could get a replacement windscreen through insurance for less than £100 excess). Again, this could be rectified prior to sale if wanted by new owner.
Some areas of the carpet trimming on the rear doors aren’t perfect. This was due to trimming past the door seals and then the doors not closing properly. Had to cut back some of the carpet and it isn’t the neatest job. Only noticeable when rear doors are open. These could be re trimmed but never bothered me enough to redo the full doors.
To summarise, I am not in a rush to sell the van and am happy to wait for the right buyer. It offers a unique opportunity, particularly for somebody who wants the versatility of being able to remove the furniture and use it as a van, or ideal for transporting bikes or motorbikes. I have removed the left wheel arch unit and managed to fit my BMW R1250GS (very large motorbike) in the back on multiple occasions to road trip into the alps and the Pyrenees. This wouldn’t be possible with any other campervan set up. As a side note, the mileage will go up ever so slightly as the van is still in daily use.
I have tried to cover everything in detail, but feel free to reach out with any questions. Please no silly offers or time wasters as you will be ignored. Payment in person only after viewing the van. I’m confident the first to view will buy!
