I’m selling my 2009 Mercedes Sprinter campervan project. I’ve owned it for three years and made some good progress, but life’s taken me in a different direction, and I’ve decided it’s time to let it go. The van was a Parcelforce vehicle before I got it, and it’s been regularly serviced. It’s got nearly 200,000 miles on it, but the engine and gearbox still run great.

I’ve put a lot into making this van comfortable for all seasons. It’s fully insulated with a mix of synthetic wool, sheep’s wool, loft insulation, and foil-wrapped bubble wrap.
There’s a 415W solar panel on the roof that’s up and running, plus a Victron twin charger and a campsite cable for 240V power. I have an inverter ready to install, so you can get 240V from the two leisure batteries whenever you’re off-grid.
For ventilation and light, there’s a big skylight, a large door window, a small side vent window, and a roof vent. Inside, the bed frame, seating, and kitchen frame are mostly built, and I added a sliding drawer under the bed for storage. I’ve also made the kitchen cupboard doors, though I haven’t installed them yet.
I’ve kept up with the van’s maintenance, including replacing the brake discs, calipers, and driveshaft. It does need a new water pump soon, but I’m happy to sort that out before selling. I’ll also make sure it has a fresh MOT, oil change, and service.
The quirks:
The van has an automatic locking system that locks the passenger, side, and rear doors automatically, which can be a bit annoying. I got a quote of £400 to have it removed, and I’ve factored that into the price.
The cab’s in decent shape but could use a little love—there’s a tear in the driver’s seat, and it’s a bit worn in places.
The bodywork’s been done, though the roof wasn’t resprayed, so some of the original faded red paint is still visible. I also haven’t replaced the plastic trim parts yet, which would be a quick and inexpensive fix to finish the look.
This van has a lot of potential and would be a great project for someone who wants to put their own stamp on it. It’s located near Ipswich if you want to come and take a look. There has been significant investment, with the equipment alone costing close to the asking price.
I’m happy to answer any questions, send more photos or videos, or arrange a viewing.
I’m not in a rush to sell, but I’m hoping to find someone who sees the potential here. Serious inquiries only, please.
