Here is my luxury Vivaro van. Customised to be a camper/day van.
I converted this to be a camper for me and wife and son but half way through conversion the MOT found that the fuel injectors were leaking and were rusted solid into the head of the engine. My garage said £3000 to get it fixed or £4000 for a new engine so we went for the new engine. So the van shows 119621 miles but the engine has only done 2000 miles. (figures might change a little as still in occasional use) Engine is from Vehicle Wise and is a really great runner, quiet and smooth and pulls really well. It all went on the credit card so we have decided to sell the van while the conversion is still spotless and clear the debt.
The focus of this van is the bed. We found that small vans with regular layout were too cramped and dark for us, so we built a really great bed that is approx super-king size and easily fits the 3 of us. We bought the best double layered foam you can buy and had it upholstered at Universal Upholstery in Wellington who did an amazing job and even matched the pattern across the seams. Cost £800 in all but was worth every penny. It has only been slept on around 4 times but I can assure you it is really comfortable.
There is plenty of storage room in the slide-out bed base for clothes, food, linen etc. and more space in the back doors for a barbeque, deck chairs etc There is loads of seating space to sit and lounge around inside and even invite friends in. There is a fold-down multi-purpose bench in the back doors that is strong enough to seat two adults which is great for just pulling up at picnic spots, but also has a canopy which makes it a great cooking and kitchen space in all weathers. There is also a brand new (unopened) toilet tent and full awning tent included which gives you lots more room for storage seating and cooking. All festivals and camp grounds give you room to put these up and it means that you can unpack all your stuff and if you want to go for a day trip you can zip up the awning and leave it at the campsite until you return.
It really does look and drive like a new van. A real head-turner. Viewing encouraged
